What's the Gut Feeling on Acne?

What's the Gut Feeling on Acne?

Posted by Bio-First Team on

Researchers have been searching for the link between microbiota and acne bacteria for about 100 years... and they've found it!

The existence of a brain-gut-skin axis means that microbes in the intestine can affect acne, and taking probiotics may help moderate levels of severity.

We know that acne sufferers have less microbial diversity in the gut than non-sufferers, so adding in some diversity may be a good idea if acne's a problem for you.

Probiotics alone, oral or topical, have not yet been proven to solve the problem of acne on the skin.

We recommend a combination approach, teaming oral probiotics with proven topical solutions.

Very recently, it has been found that measures of stress and circulating hormones are the strongest factors affecting acne-prone skin conditions and lesion counts.

The message is: Keep calm and avoid excess production of stress hormones added to your other hormones!
